Hi everyone!

It was so great being able to check in and talk with all of the kids yesterday!  I was so happy that everyone made it!  My plan is to have those twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.  I have to arrange my timing with my husband, as we need to make sure one of us is available to be with my son.  I'm hoping to be able to come up with a fixed schedule for next week and beyond.  If there are times that absolutely will NOT work for you and your child, please let me know.  I will send out an email with a zoom invitation soon but I am thinking about scheduling our next one for Friday at 11:00AM.

I also wanted to let you know that I have posted the first video read aloud in Google Classroom in Reading.  I also have posted a social studies assessment in the Social Studies class in Google Classroom as well.  It is not required but I had a bunch of kids who really wanted it.

I did let them know that while what the district and I am posting is optional as far as we are concerned for the time being, parents have the ultimate say on what is and what is not optional!

The district has released their enrichment boardsThese boards are a great way to keep your child learning during this time.  In addition I have updated the links and ideas on this page.  The videos and ideas connect to current curriculum content in the classroom.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Hi everyone,

I am sure that you are all still adjusting to the news that schools have now been cancelled for the next three weeks. It is truly a new reality for all of us and I haven't quite wrapped my head around it myself.  I wanted to start by letting you know that while we are not in session, I am still here and available for you and your children.

I want to let you know that administration is working diligently to put together resources and enrichment for parents and students.  More information in regards to this will be coming to you this week.  This website is updated to reflect the most current curriculum.  There are videos and links to applications that students are very familiar with.  Feel free to visit and keep their brains active over the next several days.

Report cards will still be available this Friday at 4:00pm.  I am available through email if you have any questions or concerns after viewing your student's report.

If you need anything, please reach out.  All questions will be addressed in a timely manner.  Please let your children know that I miss them already.  I will be in contact again soon.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Ford

Dear Student,

Welcome to 5th grade!  I hope you had a restful and relaxing summer because 5th grade is such a busy and exciting year. I’m glad I was able to meet most of you in June and I’m excited to meet the rest of you and to get to know you all more. I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.  We will work hard in 5th grade, but we will also have a lot of fun!

As far as the first day goes, please know that all you will need is a healthy snack and a smile!  We will spend most of our time getting to know each other and your new classroom - Room 107.

Personal supplies, including binders, notebooks, folders, and a pencil box, will be provided for you when you get to the classroom.  If you would like to donate some general classroom supplies, here is a list of items that room 107 is always in need of.   All donations are very much appreciated!

Boxes of Tissues, Paper Towels, & Ziploc Bags

If you get a chance, please take a moment to explore the website. There are links for student and parent surveys on the site, which you are encouraged to complete.

I have already been back at school getting the classroom ready for everyone.  Feel free to stop by during the open house on Thursday, August 22nd.  I unfortunately can’t be there, but you can come take a look at the classroom.  Enjoy your last days of vacation and start looking forward to Tuesday, August 27th!!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ford
